The Living Lab

The 5G PORTAL (Ports and Offshore Renewable Technology Accelerator Lincolnshire) is a cutting-edge “living lab” designed to transform the port of Grimsby and the Lynn and Inner Dowsing wind farm through advanced 5G technology. This project, backed by Innovate UK and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, features 15 strategically placed 5G radio transmitters both in the port and offshore on wind turbines. This project highlighted our capacity to support the demanding conditions of offshore operations while enabling advanced applications like autonomous drones, AI-driven monitoring, and augmented reality in real-world scenarios.
